Analyst and regular columnist of Centralasia.news Ussa Ussaev on the page of this online edition spoke about the potential of development of the energy sector of Turkmenistan, paying special attention to the gas field "Galkynysh", the reserves of which together with Yashlar and Garakel deposits are estimated at 27.4 trillion cubic meters.
At a recent forum on attracting foreign investment in the development of the Galkynysh field, Turkmengaz Chairman Batyr Amanov noted that Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of proven gas reserves after Russia, Iran and Qatar.
A total of 7 stages of field development are planned. Currently, the first stage is underway, and the transition to the next stages is planned. Amanov drew investors' attention to the third stage of development, which will ensure the supply of 33 billion tons of gas per year through the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.
Expert Ussayev stressed in an analytical article that when the field reaches full capacity, it is expected to produce 200 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
