Scientists from the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography and the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have arrived in Turkmenistan to hold meetings with specialists of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the State Committee for Water Management of the country and the National Institute of Deserts, Flora and Fauna. This is reported in the electronic newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".
As part of the program of stay in Turkmenistan, a trip was organized for foreign scientists to Bokurdak urban-type settlement located in the middle of the Karakum desert barchans. The PRC guests familiarized themselves with the life of villagers, appreciated the diversity of vegetation, including tall arundo reed, some coniferous and fruit trees, which have been adapted to the difficult natural conditions.
During the visit of the scientists there was an exchange of views with the staff of the NIPRJM, and the prospects for cooperation in the field of vocational training, joint environmental and scientific-technical programs were considered.
