The forum "Makhtumkuli Fraghi - the soul of the Turkmen people" was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia on May 17 in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The National Academy of Sciences of Georgia took part in the organization of the event. The participants included representatives of ministries, diplomatic missions, international organizations, universities of Georgia and Turkmenistan.
During the presentations on the poet, who had a strong influence on the culture of the East and the whole world, Fraga's works were considered a valuable global cultural treasure. The poet's works have been translated into many languages and are still highly popular today, three centuries later.
The present conference in Georgia was held with the aim of popularizing on the world level the work of the great poet.
