On October 31, the Institute of International Relations of Turkmenistan held a conference on the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution "Friendship Games". This is reported on the website Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The conference was attended by employees of foreign diplomatic agencies accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, political figures, teachers of higher educational institutions, students, media representatives and athletes.
Rashid Meredov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, addressed the conference, noting the importance of adopting the UN Friendship Games resolution. He emphasized the role of Turkmenistan in the development of constructive dialogue between countries aimed at strengthening peace.
Other speakers of the conference noted that by initiating major UN decisions in the sphere of sports diplomacy, Turkmenistan emphasizes its commitment to the principles of humanism underlying the ideals of the Olympic movement.
