On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov met with the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by Sowlat Mortazavi - Minister of Cooperation, Labor and Social Security at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. In the course of the conversation, the sides noted the high level of partnership relations between the states, which are based on the principles of equality and mutual respect.
The diplomats emphasized the importance of bilateral contacts at the highest level, particularly the dialog between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Iran, in strengthening effective cooperation.
The meeting touched upon the activation of partnership ties in the sphere of energy, transit and transport. Rashid Meredov emphasized the importance of increasing the volume of mutual trade. The positive dynamics of trade turnover growth was also noted.
