Since 2013, Turkish coffee has been included in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Since then, World Turkish Coffee Day has been celebrated on December 5. On this day, people around the world pay tribute to this way of making the popular refreshment drink.
On the occasion of the holiday, the Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan will organize the serving of aromatic coffee near its building in Ashgabat, 59 Göroğlu Street. The event will take place on Dec. 5 at lunchtime from 12 to 1 p.m.
Also, delicious Turkish coffee was served to guests at the Winter Bazaar fair held Sunday at the International School of Ashgabat. The coffee was served at the Turkish Table organized by the Turkish Embassy.
Turkish coffee is distinguished by its strong, characteristic aroma and method of preparation. It is brewed in a jezve, a special small vessel that resembles a coffee pot shaped like a cone extended downward. The coffee is served unfiltered in small cups.
