WHO Chairperson congratulates Turkmenistan on the New Year

Representative of the World Health Organization in Turkmenistan Yegor Zaitsev congratulated the Government and people of Turkmenistan on the coming New Year, noting the country's achievements in the fight against infectious diseases. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Egor Zaitsev also emphasized that Turkmenistan is one of the few countries free of malaria and polio. He noted that the country has achieved high indicators in combating hepatitis B through immunization.

WHO actively assists Turkmenistan in the digitalization of the health system and in addressing risk factors for non-communicable diseases. On behalf of the Organization, the WHO representative expressed interest in further developing fruitful cooperation with Turkmenistan.
