President of Turkmenistan participates in the Summit of Heads of IFAS Founding Countries

The Summit of Heads of Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea has started today in the Republic of Tajikistan, which is attended by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Programs and projects of the Fund members are aimed at improving socio-economic and environmental situation in the Aral Sea region, competent use of water resources, nature protection, and adaptation to climate change.

Turkmenistan has put forward initiatives related to the environmental agenda and rational use of water resources in Central Asia. It is proposed to solve urgent issues on the basis of universally recognized norms of law taking into account the interests of all states in the region.

Turkmenistan's initiatives in line with key UN goals and objectives are aimed at ensuring stability and peace in the region, as well as achieving the SDGs.
