Serdar Berdymukhamedov signed a decree to this effect at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Saturday. A. Yazmyradov, the country's deputy prime minister for the agro-industrial complex, was appointed head of the government commission.
The commission is expected to include civil servants occupying senior positions in the Department of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Agriculture, in the State Committee for Water Management. The Government Commission will also include experts from the scientific community and heads of regions.
The work of the established state body will be aimed at optimizing the consumption of water resources, coordination in the management and construction of water supply facilities.
