President of Turkmenistan to pay official visit to Qatar

Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov gave a report on comprehensive preparations for Serdar Berdimuhamedov's official visit to Qatar at Friday's Cabinet meeting. This was reported by the state news agency Turkmenistan Today.

It was emphasized during the meeting that maintaining and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with the states of the Middle East region, in particular, with Qatar, is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan's foreign policy.

Rashid Meredov presented a detailed program of the visit to the President of Turkmenistan. As part of the official trip, the opening of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Doha, the capital of Qatar, is planned. This event will give a new impetus to the diplomatic relations between the two states, established in 1996.

The President of Turkmenistan reviewed the report of Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and noted that there is a great potential in the development of cooperation with Qatar in various directions.
