At yesterday's government meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Shamukhammet Durdylyev reported on the work to overhaul and improve Maryazot's production facilities. This project is implemented with the support of Russian investor companies.
It is planned that after reconstruction and modernization of Maryazot production the Turkmenhimiya State Company will be able to reach a designed annual capacity of about 450 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate. This will provide the Turkmen market with its own resource without the need for imports.
Last May, at the 11th meeting of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the Russian side funded the project.
After visiting Maryazot, Russian experts in the chemical industry, based on their experience, made proposals for the modernization of the Turkmen enterprise. As a result of consultations, overhaul and modernization of production processes with the organization of production of nitric acid, ammonia, ammonium nitrate, as well as introduction of chemical water treatment were planned.
Having heard Durdylyev's report, the head of state stressed the strategic importance of partnership with Russia for Turkmenistan.
