On May 24 this year, Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation Ivan Volynkin. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary presented credentials to the President of Turkmenistan and expressed gratitude for his trust and time for the meeting. After conveying the words of greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ivan Volynkin expressed confidence in the continuation of good neighborly friendly relations between Russia and Turkmenistan.
It was noted that constructive political dialog is developing between the two countries, interdepartmental and inter-parliamentary ties are being strengthened. The sides actively cooperate and provide mutual support within the framework of international organizations.
The sides also emphasized fruitful interstate cooperation in humanitarian, cultural and educational spheres. Trade and economic sphere, in particular, cooperation in oil and gas industry, industry, shipbuilding, aircraft building, gas-chemical and other sectors was named one of the priority areas of partnership.
