Seminar on gender equality held in Turkmenistan

On January 24, Turkmenistan hosted a seminar on gender equality organized by USAID and the Women's Union of Turkmenistan for members of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Central Council of the Women's Union and representatives of government agencies and higher educational institutions of the country. This was reported by the online publication "Türkmenistan Habarlar Portaly".

Supporting the goals of the National Action Plan for Gender Equality in Turkmenistan 2021-2025, USAID provides civil servants with knowledge and skills to promote gender equality.

The workshop exchanged views on the study of global models of gender equality in the national context. Mechanisms for ensuring gender-sensitive decision-making, preventing gender discrimination and introducing best practices of gender mainstreaming as a tool for social protection were considered.
