The Finnish social security system was reviewed by experts from Turkmenistan

Specialists from Turkmenistan's Interdepartmental Commission on Human Rights flew to Finland to get acquainted with the social protection system of this European state. This was reported by Orient news, citing a press release from the UNDP office.

The Turkmen delegation met with members of the Finnish Foreign Ministry and representatives of the Ministries of Health and Social Welfare. Members of non-governmental organizations, specialized centers and institutes also participated in the meetings.

Specialists from Turkmenistan learned about the recommendations for the UPR, the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the ICESCR. Finnish colleagues spoke about the principles of the country's policy on the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities. The Turkmen specialists learned about the practice of providing medical services to persons with disabilities in Finland.

The meeting was organized by the Turkmen Institute of State, Law and Democracy in cooperation with the UNDP.
