Online meeting between Turkmenistan and the UN held

On June 8, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held an online meeting with heads of UN agencies in Turkmenistan and regional UN agencies. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the videoconference, the issues related to cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Organization were discussed. According to the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, the state seeks to further develop cooperation with the UN in the following areas: strengthening peace and security, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, developing sustainable transport, minimizing the effects of climate change, rational use of water resources, and preserving cultural heritage.

Turkmenistan expressed interest in expanding areas of cooperation with the UN and increasing the number of UN missions and offices in Turkmenistan.
