As part of his working trip to Turkmenistan, Chinese First Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with Acting Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan V. Khadzhiev on May 13 this year, as reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The sides noted the effective development of Turkmen-Chinese relations in various directions. The diplomats emphasized the productivity of interaction between the two countries in the trade and economic sphere, particularly in the energy sector.
Representatives of the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and China noted the closeness or similarity of views on topical issues that were considered in the format of regional and global interaction.
Cooperation in the "Central Asia-China" format was named a priority area for the development of Turkmen-Chinese relations. The issues related to the forthcoming Summit of the Heads of the five Central Asian countries and China were discussed.
