The heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan held a meeting in Astana

Presidents of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a bilateral meeting in Astana on the margins of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian Countries. This was reported by the state news agency "Turkmenistan Today.

The sides noted the fruitfulness of bilateral ties in such areas as transportation, trade, economy, culture, chemical industry, and agriculture. The President of Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of establishing Trade Houses in both countries and noted the effectiveness of economic forums.

In the context of cooperation in the transportation sector, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the expediency of uniting the transportation infrastructure of Central Asia, China, Europe, Middle East and Near East. It was noted that Turkmenistan supplies electricity and natural gas to Uzbekistan within the framework of energy cooperation.
