Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan strengthen cooperation in the tourism sector

The Turkmen delegation took part in the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Tourism held in Khiva. During the event, the initiative to establish cooperation between the Turkmen NTZ Avaza and the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan was voiced. This is reported by the online edition of "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The delegation of Turkmenistan was headed by the Minister of Culture A. Shamuradov. The cooperation program envisages mutual visits between the National Tourist Zone "Avaza" and representatives of the Khorezm region.

The main theme of the 12th session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers was "Sustainable Development of the Tourism Industry". On the margins of the conference, a number of resolutions were adopted on the development of medical, pilgrimage and eco-tourism.
