Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister meets with Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister

Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held talks with Mohammed Bahr Al-Ulum - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq on June 7. This is reported on the official website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of implementation of urgent joint projects in the field of energy and transport and logistics. The necessity of strengthening partnership ties between the two states in the spheres of education and science was emphasized. The diplomats expressed views on the formation of an intergovernmental commission on economic partnership between the Republic of Iraq and Turkmenistan.

The talks resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on political consultations between the countries at the level of foreign ministries.
