President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to attend ECO Summit in Tashkent on November 9

In the past Nov. 2 digital sessions Turkmenistan's Cabinet of Ministers, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov reported to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on preparations for his working visit to Uzbekistan on November 8-9 to participate in the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

Turkmenistan currently holds the ECO Chairmanship and the previous 15th ECO Summit was held in Ashgabat in November 2021. For an effective chairmanship, Turkmenistan has developed a special concept aimed at intensifying cooperation in various spheres.

The President of Turkmenistan stressed the importance of strengthening ECO cooperation with other international organizations and countries. He also noted Turkmenistan's commitment to the policy of neutrality and the previously stated foreign policy course.

The head of state gave necessary instructions to the government to ensure the organization of Turkmenistan's participation in the upcoming ECO summit in the capital of neighboring Uzbekistan.
