Turkmenistan and France continue to develop friendly relations and mutually beneficial partnership in trade, economy, culture, science and education. This fact, in particular, was noted during the working visit to Ashgabat made by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The main purpose of the head of state's visit was to familiarize himself with the progress of construction of social and administrative facilities. The construction of many of these facilities was entrusted to the French "Bouygues Batiment International" organization that has been actively working on realizing a new architectural look of the Turkmen capital and other populated areas of the country for many years. The specialists of the company have built quite a variety of sports, social, cultural and administrative objects. This is not the only example of the Turkmen-French cooperation.
Turkmenistan and France interact in economy and trade. This is evidenced by the activities of the intergovernmental commission on economic partnership between the two powers, established more than ten years ago, as well as a number of documents, including the Agreement on Cooperation concluded in spring 2013, during the visit of French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius to Turkmenistan.
Scientific and educational interaction between the states is also developing. The French language is taught at Turkmen higher educational institutions and in a number of schools. "Thales Alenia Space" (France) cooperated with our state to launch the first national communication satellite "Türkmen Älem 52,0 E".
Turkmenistan interacts with the association of entrepreneurs MEDEF International, as well as with such companies as Bouygues and Vinci Constrution, Cifal, Airbus, Eurocopter (EADS), Dresser-Rand, Schlumberger and many others.
During the official visit of Turkmenistan's foreign minister to France in 2015, an intergovernmental agreement was signed on the work of cultural centers in both countries.
Not long ago, French President Emmanuel Macron sent a message to Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, in which he positively assessed the friendly and trusting relations established between the states, confirming the desire for further strengthening of friendly and mutually beneficial relations.
