The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia held a meeting with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan (CCI) and the State Association "Turkmenhaly", during which they discussed key areas of further cooperation. Communication between the participants of the event took place in the format of video link.
The head of the Saudi Arabian diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan, Mr. Khalid bin Faisal Al-Sehli, noted that similar events with the participation of stakeholders have been held earlier by video link. For example, during the online talks held on January 26, 2021, representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of both countries discussed the steps to be taken to increase bilateral trade and investment.
During the March talks with the heads of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dovletgeldi Redzhepov and State Association "Turkmenhaly" Ogulhajat Ishangulyeva the issues of development of trade and economic relations were also touched upon. It was noted that Turkmenistan ranked tenth in the world in terms of cotton production, and foreign investors have shown considerable interest in this industry. They are also interested in Turkmen carpets and textile products.
The sides noted that the activation of business meetings between the two countries will contribute to the opening of outlets in Saudi Arabia, where everyone will be able to buy textiles and carpets made in Turkmenistan. This, in turn, will be another important step towards increasing the turnover and exports of Turkmen goods.
At the end of online negotiations it was noted that thanks to such meetings not only the gradual removal of existing barriers but also growth of interest of representatives of business circles of both fraternal countries in mutual cooperation takes place. Businessmen will actively join the "Turkmen-Saudi market" and this will contribute to increasing the demand for carpets and textiles made in Turkmenistan.
