Talks between the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon were held in Dushanbe. This was reported by the Internet publication "TurkmenPortal".
The sides discussed the prospects of cooperation in trade, energy, transportation, industrial, agricultural and other spheres. Special attention was paid to the need to increase mutual trade turnover and intensify intergovernmental dialog.
Also during the negotiations, the parties considered the expansion of cooperation in the field of ecology, in particular, within the framework of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. The sides named important directions of development of bilateral ties between the states, among which are the spheres of education, culture, health care and sports. In addition, the interlocutors discussed cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
