Delegates from Uzbekistan, led by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, paid a working visit to the capital of Turkmenistan. The Uzbek foreign minister was received by the head of Turkmenistan.
Heads of Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan became signatories of government agreements on water and land use. Representatives of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan held extensive negotiations with the Foreign Ministries to consider the current state and prospects for expanding the Turkmen-Uzbek partnership in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The sides underscored the importance of high-level visits for the deepening of bilateral interaction.
The ministers praised the level of partnership through the Foreign Ministry and noted the need to support this dynamic, expressing the similarity of positions in the strengthening of regional security and stability.
In the field of economy and trade, the need to expand direct business contacts and dialogue of specialized specialists was noted. The participants discussed details of transport, energy, agricultural and water cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
During the talks they also touched upon aspects of cultural, humanitarian and health cooperation. The diplomats considered the possibility of joint cultural events.
