Turkmenistan participated in the 56th session of the UN Commission on Population and Development

On Monday, April 10, the regular 56th session of the Commission at the UN headquarters in New York began, with the participation of representatives of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan. This is reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The session, which runs until April 14, discusses work on the implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, adopted in Cairo in 1994. The Commission's main focus is the implementation of the agreed development goals, including those set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Turkmenistan, within the framework of its presentation and participation in the general debate, shared its experience in the field of population, in particular, in the organization and conduct of the census of population and housing stock in 2022. It was emphasized that the census data will be used in shaping the socio-economic policy of the country.
