Turkmenistan participated in the CAREC Committee meeting in Bishkek

The Turkmen delegation participated in the 24th meeting of the CAREC Customs Cooperation Committee

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in the 24th meeting of the Committee on Customs Cooperation of the CAREC Program, which was held on September 3-4 in the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Turkmen delegation was represented by the Head of the Customs Control Organization Department of the State Customs Service and an employee of the same unit. During the event, they made a presentation on national projects in the field of customs administration.

The central topic of the meeting was the discussion of the implementation of regional and national projects according to the Committee's work plan for 2024-2025. The participants considered the priority directions of customs cooperation development within the framework of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation.

Special attention was paid to the simplification of trade procedures, integrated risk management and optimization of regional transit operations. The issues of digitalization of customs processes, development of paperless trade and introduction of "green customs" principles were also discussed.

Turkmen representatives shared the experience of national initiatives on digitalization of customs procedures and improvement of transit operations. They also spoke about the development of bilateral cooperation under the CAREC program.

Based on the results of the two-day work, the participants agreed on the draft plan of activities of the Customs Cooperation Committee for 2025-2026 and approved the minutes of the 24th meeting.
