The Turkmen Delegation met with the ECO Secretary General

The Turkmen delegation headed by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, who arrived in New York to participate in the 79th session of the UNGA, met with Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Asad Majeed Khan on September 26. This is reported by Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed promising aspects of intensifying cooperation. Energy, transport and cultural spheres, as well as communication, trade and economic integration and digitalization were named as the main areas of partnership.

The need to improve the international legal framework within the ECO framework was reaffirmed.
In addition, the issues of intensifying cross-border economic activities by increasing the potential of North-South and East-West routes were considered.

Interest was expressed on the part of ECO to hold high-level events in the smart city of Arkadag.
