Turkmen swimmers win medals at international competition

Within the framework of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of the Central Asian states and the meeting of the IFAS Founding States Council, an international swimming tournament was organized in Dushanbe, where Turkmen athletes won four medals. Athletes from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan competed for medals.

Valeria Mirenskaya, a schoolgirl from Ashgabat, and Ogulmerjen Nuraeva, an athlete of the Turkmenistan Aquatics Federation, won silver medals in the women's freestyle relay. The same athletes were awarded bronze medals in the 50-meter butterfly and breaststroke. Among men, Kurban Khommadov won a bronze medal in 200-meter breaststroke.
