On January 3, 2025, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on the formation of the Organizational State Committee, which will prepare and hold events dedicated to the declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality, TDH reports.
According to the decree, Turkmenistan actively participates in international life, promoting initiatives to strengthen peace, security and stability at the global level. In particular, the country made a proposal, supported by the UN General Assembly, to proclaim 2025 the International Year of Peace and Confidence.
A number of significant forums, conferences and high-level events will be organized as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and the implementation of this important international initiative. Turkmenistan intends to involve reliable partners, including international organizations and foreign countries, in the preparation and organization of these events.
The decree also approves the composition of the Organizing Committee, which will oversee all events throughout the year.
