A conference dedicated to the works of Turkmen poet and philosopher Makhtumkuli Fraghi was held in Ankara on October 5 with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ankara, Ankara University of Social Sciences, EcoAurasia Foundation and the Union of Engineers and Builders of the Turkic World. The conference was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations, deputies of the National Parliament of Turkey, the leadership of TURKSOY, rectors of leading universities, representatives of academic circles, orientalists and literary scholars, Turkmen students studying in Turkey and media representatives.
The event was held in the format of plenary sessions and four sessions, during which the role of Makhtumkuli's work in the world culture was considered. It was noted that TURKSOY declared 2024 the year of Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
