The opening ceremony of the new building of the OSCE Center was held in Ashgabat

On June 1, the opening ceremony of the new building of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat was held with the participation of Acting Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan V. Hajiyev and OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid. This is reported on the official website of the OSCE.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, international organizations, national and foreign media. The new building for the OSCE Office was provided by the Government of Turkmenistan, which demonstrates the country's desire for fruitful co-operation with the Organization.

The Head of the OSCE Centre in Turkmenistan, John MacGregor, expressed his gratitude for the donation of the building. The OSCE Office in Turkmenistan has existed since 1999 to support the country in fulfilling its security commitments.
