4th UPR on Turkmenistan presented in Geneva

The 44th session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group is taking place in Geneva from November 6 to 17. Today, the Turkmen delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan V. Hajiyev took part in the consideration of the review of Turkmenistan. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The session reviewed the steps taken by Turkmenistan in the field of human rights and the implementation of the issues identified in the third cycle of the 2018 review.

Those present noted the dynamics of the implementation of measures in the field of human rights, the improvement of national institutions, and the implementation of legislative reforms. Further practical recommendations were made. The outcome of the review will be made public during the session of the Human Rights Council early next year.
