British experts review climate change issues in Turkmenistan

A videoconference devoted to solving climate change problems in Turkmenistan was held on March 31. The organizers were British Embassy in our country and British company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

PwC specialists presented the results of the project, which is being implemented with funding from the British Embassy in Turkmenistan. British experts analyzed best practices (international and regional) to minimize the impact of climate change, adaptation and transition to low-carbon technologies, which is especially relevant on the eve of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26). Comparison of foreign experience with the current situation in Turkmenistan provides additional opportunities to ensure sustainable growth, taking into account environmental requirements.

PwC experts' conclusions were shared with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Electric Power as well as other stakeholders, including: UNDP, Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, State Concerns "Turkmenneft" and "Turkmengaz", SPPT.
