Armenian poet was awarded a medal for popularization of Turkmen thinker Makhtumkuli

Armenian poet-translator Varuzhan Khastur was awarded a jubilee medal "To the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli Fraghi" by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his contribution to popularizing the works of Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."

The awarding ceremony was held on October 22 in the building of the Writers' Union of Armenia. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Writers' Union of Armenia Edward Militonyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Armenia Muhammetgeldy Ayazov and cultural figures.

The works of poet Hastur were included in the collection of Mahtumkuli's poems presented by the President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturian during his visit to Ashgabat. The poet expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people for the high appreciation of his work.
