European consortium intends to invest in Trans-Caspian gas pipeline

The Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline is a planned underwater pipeline to link the city of Turkmenbashi with Baku.
On August 12, 2018, in the city of Aktau, the heads of the five Caspian littoral states signed the "Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea.

The consortium, enshrined in international treaties and the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea, intends to comply with environmental requirements and standards. In particular, the design of the pipeline will take into account such aspects as bathymetric, geophysical and geotechnical studies, as well as the assessment of appropriate seabed profiles, elimination of free spans and obstacles along the pipeline route.

As noted by the president of Edison Technologies, the consortium will focus on assessing all types of potential environmental risks associated with the planning and implementation of an underwater pipeline. The consortium plans to achieve this goal by conducting special environmental impact assessment studies and workshops at each stage of the project. These are the steps by which the international expertise can be carried out and thereby meet the requirements of the Caspian neighbors on the environmental safety of the Caspian basin.

В январе этого года, на полях туркмено-германского круглого стола, который прошёл в Ашхабаде, Э. Касапоглу – президент‌ ‌компании‌ ‌‌Edison‌ ‌Technologies‌, встретился с руководством ГК “Туркменгаз” и ГК “Туркменнефть”. На двусторонней встрече, Эдисон от имени европейского консорциума ещё раз подтвердил свои серьёзные намерения реализовать инвестиционный проект по строительству Транскаспийского газопровода.
