The Turkmen delegation headed by Chairman of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova took part in the 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Forum of Women Parliamentarians was held, during which the Turkmen side presented measures to ensure gender equality and the empowerment of women, as well as the implementation of the National Action Plan for Gender Equality in Turkmenistan for the period 2021-2025.
In addition, a meeting was held with IPU President Tulia Axon, during which the Turkmen side expressed its commitment to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the IPU in a bilateral format. In this context, readiness to receive the delegation of Tanzania in Turkmenistan was expressed.
During the IPU Assembly meeting, the Turkmen delegation presented practical initiatives to strengthen peace and security, including through parliamentary diplomacy.
