The Head of Turkmenistan received the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.

The guest congratulated the Head of State on the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi and expressed gratitude for the establishment of a monument to the Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov in the cultural and park complex "Makhtumkuli Fraghi".

During the meeting, the sides discussed the expansion of trade and economic ties, development of transit transport, and import of electricity. The sides also touched upon other areas of interstate cooperation.

The President of Turkmenistan expressed interest in further development of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that the country is looking forward to the visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
