Turkmen President and Russian Prime Minister meet in Ashgabat

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, who arrived to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS countries. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation. The growth of mutual trade volumes was noted. Mishustin emphasized that trade turnover between the countries at the end of the first quarter of 2024 increased by 22%.

The sides also discussed interaction in the cultural-humanitarian, scientific-educational and healthcare spheres. The Russian Prime Minister noted that the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi is widely celebrated in the Russian Federation, which came the year under the slogan "The treasure house of Makhtumkuli Fraghi's mind".
