President of Turkmenistan meets with UN Secretary General

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with UN Secretary General Antonio Gutterish on the sidelines of the XVI BRICS Summit in Kazan on October 24. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and prospects for establishing a constructive dialog in line with the goals and urgent challenges of our time. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Mr. Gutterish on UN Day and expressed hope for the continuation of effective partnership. He noted that cooperation with the UN is one of the priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy.

Possible ways to expand multifaceted cooperation were considered. It was noted that special attention is paid to the issues of ecology and environmental protection. The topics of cooperation in the field of public health protection were also touched upon.
