Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Maksat Chariyev presented his credentials to Prince Albert II of Monaco during an official ceremony at the Prince's Palace on May 30. The Turkmen diplomat, who has his residence in Paris, conveyed greetings from the country's top leadership to the head of the principality.
During the meeting Ambassador Chariev conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In response, Prince Albert II expressed return greetings to the Turkmen leadership and best wishes to the people of Turkmenistan.
The sides emphasized the significance of the January visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag to Monaco in 2025, which strengthened bilateral relations between the states. The sides also emphasized the importance of the humanitarian mission of Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charity Fund, held in April this year.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Ambassador handed the Prince of Monaco an official invitation to participate in the High Level International Forum scheduled for December 12 in Ashgabat. The event is timed to coincide with the International Year of Peace and Confidence, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent Neutrality.
In addition, the head of the principality was given an invitation to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which will be held in August on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.
