President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent greetings to his compatriots on the occasion of the Kurban Bayram holiday, which is celebrated in the first days of summer of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The head of state emphasized the special significance of the celebration in 2024, marked by the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality. As part of preparations for the holy holiday, thousands of Turkmenistanis have been sent to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. The pilgrims had an opportunity to visit the main shrines of Islam - the Holy Kaaba in Mecca and the Mosque of Prophet Muhammad in Medina.
The festive events in honor of Kurban Bayram will last three days and cover administrative centers, etraps, villages, parks, cultural centers and theaters in Ashgabat and Arkadag. Traditionally, Turkmen families spread sachaks with treats, make kurbanlyk-sadaka, recite ayat-tovirs and offer prayers for the prosperity of the Fatherland.
In his address, the President noted the commitment of the Turkmen people to cultural traditions, spiritual ideals and principles of peace, friendship and humanism. The role of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero Arkadag in creating the foundation of modern development of the state was especially emphasized.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov recalled the state policy built on the principle "The state is for the people!" and the motto "The homeland is the homeland only with the people!". The President wished the citizens health, longevity, happiness and success in their labor activity for the prosperity of the sovereign Motherland.
Kurban Bayrami is called to strengthen humanistic ideals and promote spiritual unity of the Turkmen society.
