In November-December 2025, the capital of Turkmenistan will be the venue for the Economic Forum and the meeting of the Steering Board of SPECA - UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia. Plans to hold large-scale international events were announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Khojamyrat Geldimiradov at a government meeting on Friday. The events are organized within the framework of Turkmenistan's chairmanship in the SPECA program in 2025.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan together with the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva and the UN Economic Commission for Europe are preparing the SPECA Days. The events will be attended by high-level representatives of SPECA participating countries, UNECE management, experts from international organizations and UN specialized agencies.
SPECA is a special UN program aimed at integrating the economies of Central Asian countries into the world economy and strengthening regional cooperation. The program was established in 1998 and initially included Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Later, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan joined SPECA.
