Turkmenistan to hold International Peace Forum on December 12

Turkmenistan is preparing to hold the International Forum of Peace and Trust, which will be held on December 12 this year within the framework of the "International Year of Peace and Trust" announced by the UN 2025. Arzuw.news reports with reference to the publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.

The event will be the main event within the framework of the UN General Assembly resolution adopted on March 21, 2024. The document proclaimed 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" and established the principle of holding similar initiatives every five years.

Peacefulness and positive neutrality form the basis of Turkmenistan's foreign policy strategy laid down by Hero-Arkadag and implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Unlike traditional neutrality, the country's status implies active participation in resolving international issues exclusively by peaceful means.

Neutral Turkmenistan has been recognized as a peacekeeping center of regional and global importance, which is confirmed by a number of UN resolutions on the country's initiative. Among the key documents are the resolution on declaring December 12 as the "International Day of Neutrality", on the role of neutrality policy and on the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.

Turkmenistan actively promotes the concept of preventive diplomacy to prevent potential conflicts and resolve contentious issues through diplomatic methods. The policy of neutrality contributes to strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia through energy security, transportation interconnectivity and environmental diplomacy projects.

Holding the forum in December will turn Ashgabat into a center of world diplomacy and demonstrate Turkmenistan's commitment to the principles of peace and international cooperation.
