Ashgabat hosts meeting on Caspian Sea issues

On September 15, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosts the eleventh meeting of the High Level Working Group on the Caspian Sea with the participation of delegations of all five Caspian littoral states. The event is chaired by the head of the Turkmen delegation M.G.Atajanov. The meeting is attended by representatives of Azerbaijan led by S.A. Sharifov, Iran led by K.G. Abadi, Kazakhstan with the delegation of Z.A. Amanzholova and Russia with the delegation of N.N. Udovichenko.

Methodologies for establishing direct baselines in the Caspian Sea are on the agenda. The participants also review cooperation in the Caspian Sea and consider preparations for the next meeting of foreign ministers of the Caspian littoral states.

Special attention is paid to the establishment of a working group on the problem of the Caspian Sea shallowing. The meeting continues its work.
