The Exhibition of Economic Achievements dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence has opened in the capital of Turkmenistan. The opening ceremony was held in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the participation of members of the government, heads of the Mejlis, ministries, diplomatic missions and representatives of provinces. The President of Turkmenistan sent a welcoming address to the participants of the exhibition, noting the importance of demonstrating the achievements over three and a half decades of independence.
The exhibition features pavilions of Ashgabat and Arkadag cities and velayat administrations, showing the socio-economic development of the regions. A special place is occupied by the exposition of Arkadag city - the first "smart" city in the region, where the construction of the second stage is underway.
The oil and gas sector was represented by the State Concerns "Türkengaz", "Türkmennebit" and State Corporation "Türkmengeologiýa", demonstrating the growth of hydrocarbon production and processing. The agro-industrial complex was shown by the Ministries of Agriculture, the State Committee for Water Management, the concern "Türkmenpagta" and private enterprises.
Considerable attention has been paid to transportation and communication development. On July 11 this year, new ministries of railway transport, communications, road transport, as well as state services for the development of the industry were established. In April, the 600-kilometer-long Tedzhen-Mary section of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat high-speed highway was put into operation.
The construction industry is represented by the Ministries of Construction, Industry, Energy and the State Concern "Türkmenhimiýa". The chemical industry demonstrates the products of the plants "Tejenkarbamid", "Marykarbamid", "Balkanabat", "Bereket" and Garlyk mining complex.
The textile industry showed products of Gala, Bedew, Miras, Jeýtun, Nusaý and Bürgüt brands. The IT sector was represented by Aýdyň gijeler and Agzybirlik tilsimaty, producing computers, monitors and payment terminals.
The exhibition included a show of new clothing collections from the fashion houses of the Ministry of Textile Industry and the Union of Industrialists. The exhibition will be open until September 20.
