May 9, /Arzuw NEWS/, a ceremony of laying flowers at the Eternal Flame in honor of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 was held in Mary.
Honorary elders, representatives of the Velaiat administration, public organizations, servicemen, students and young people gathered to remember the valiant glory of the soldiers.
One of the honorable aksakals, in a conversation with the correspondent of Arzuw.news, shared his impressions of the event: "Today we came to pay tribute to the soldiers who died in the war. Laying flowers at the Eternal Flame recalls the courage and bravery of the soldiers who gave their lives for the benefit of our country".
With a feeling of deep gratitude, the participants of the event observed a moment of silence in memory of the dead. At the conclusion of the official ceremony, citizens began to flock en masse to the monument, carrying flowers and photographs of relatives, each of whom had contributed to the victory in the Great Patriotic War, to the Eternal Flame.
Similar actions were held in all regions of Turkmenistan.
