Ashgabat held a Victory Day parade

On May 9, Ashgabat held a military parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, heads of the country's military and law enforcement agencies, ministers and department heads attended the parade, which took place on the square in front of the People's Memory Memorial Complex. Colonel General Alexander Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation as well. The parade began at 8 p.m. Ashgabat time.

At the opening of the military parade, the battle flag of the 748th Rifle Regiment, in which Berdymukhamed Annaev, President Berdymukhamedov's grandfather, fought, was handed over to the Turkmen side.

Members of the Ashgabat garrison of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan marched in front of the parade rostrum. Cadets of Specialized Military School No. 1 named after Berdymukhamed Annaev marched in the uniform of former military schools. The parade also displayed a variety of equipment used during the war.

The parade in Ashgabat, dedicated to the Great Victory Day, ended with the march of the "Immortal Regiment" and the festive salute.
