Turkmenistan celebrates the second anniversary of the opening of the unique smart city Arkadag, which was inaugurated on June 28, 2023. The celebration takes place within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Confidence and the 30th anniversary of the country's neutrality.
In two years of its existence, Arkadag has become the first smart city in the region with original architecture of white marble buildings. The settlement is located in the picturesque natural environment of ancient Kopetdag on the Turkmen land.
All necessary administrative and social facilities have been created in the city based on the "smart city" concept. Modern kindergartens, schools, medical institutions, health centers, sports, cultural and shopping facilities have been built. The road and transport infrastructure has been fully created and social and communication services have been organized.
The ecological cleanliness of the city has been recognized at the international level - Arkadag has received many certificates from international organizations.
The Arkadag City Development Concept for 2024-2052 is currently being implemented. Construction of the second phase of the smart city continues at an accelerated pace with planned commissioning in 2027.
The second phase provides for the construction of residential buildings, industrial production and social infrastructure facilities, which will significantly expand the capacity of the modern Turkmen city.
