Iranian holiday inscribed on the UNESCO List celebrated in Ashgabat

On December 20 this year, the Cultural Center of Iran in the Turkmen capital hosted a celebration on the occasion of the ancient Iranian holiday Shab-e Yalda ("Night of Yalda"). This holiday is dedicated to the longest night of the year and is included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad." 

The event was attended by residents and guests of Ashgabat, bearers of Iranian culture living in the Turkmen capital, representatives of mass media.

Navid Rasouli, Cultural Counselor at the Iranian Embassy in Turkmenistan, spoke at the celebration, noting the importance of the ancient holiday as a good tradition contributing to strengthening international friendship and family ties.
