Ashgabat hosts expert meeting on energy interconnectivity

A meeting of international experts on improving energy interconnectivity and ensuring reliable and affordable energy needed to achieve the 7th Sustainable Development Goal is being held in the Turkmen capital from October 16-17, 2024. This is reported by the online edition "Westiabad."

Based on UN resolution 78/149, UNECE and ESCAP organize sessions on "Regional Integration and Cooperation" and "Diversification and Security of Energy Sources".

These sessions address best practices for planning and operating integrated energy systems that will accelerate the transition to clean energy and reduce costs. In addition, a workshop and a UN CTU special event on critical energy infrastructure protection are planned.
